Despite making many claims about the cause of the crash, the U.S. has refused to share the hardest evidence of all: the satellite imagery immediately prior, immediately after and, if available, at the moment of the attack and the downing of MH17.
Both Russian and American satellites have been surveilling the area of the fighting between the rebels and the Ukrainian military as well as the groups referred to by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko as “partisans.” With this deadly proxy war between Russia and the United States, it seems only logical that the U.S. intelligence community had its eyes on the area. If not, the CIA should go on record unequivocally stating that it has no satellite information of the area on the day in question…
… Why has the United States not released its satellite images of the time of the MH17 crash and, more importantly, moments prior to it? TruthDig
I don’t know what this is folks. I just saw it linked on Twitter and it’s from Russia Post. The caption translated reads: За мгновения до крушения «Боинга» под Донецком — уникальный кадр в аналитической программе «Однако» which translates to:
Moments before the crash “Boeing” near Donetsk – a unique frame in the analytical program “However”
It’s dated 14 Ноябрь, 2014 (November 14 2014)
I obviously cannot confirm it. But as you all know, the puppet regime in Ukraine has been pushing the “the Russians are invading” story all over again, they are deliberately shelling the crash site to destroy evidence and the war-mongering Ausies and Brits are accusing Moscow of shooting down Flight MH17 repeatedly in public.
If the Russians had this footage and were trying to play nice with the US and NATO countries before leaking it, now would be the time they get pissed off and let the rest of the world know they had nothing to do with shooting down that plane.
Yesterday, Russia released radar data that proved a Ukrainian military jet was in the area of Flight MH17 when it was downed. I wonder if someone leaked this to either bolster that evidence, or, if this is a bit of cognitive infiltration of disinformation, discredit it.
That said, I don’t know what this is. Here is the photo and the Russian news report you can view below.
More images and a news report from 1TV.RU after the break.
Here are some more images, close-ups, from the 1TV.RU website.
Here is a news report from 1TV.RU. In this broadcast, you can see the time and date stamp on the satellite image which syncs up perfectly with the downing of Flight MH17.
This comes from a story on 1TV.RU:
At the disposal of Channel proved sensational shot, presumably made by foreign spy satellite in the last seconds of flight Malaysian “Boeing” over Ukraine.
It is known that at the summit in Brisbane Australian Prime Abbott threatens to ask our president sternly question about Malaysian “Boeing”. Let’s try to facilitate his task.
Back in August, Russian Union of Engineers published its report on the possible causes of the accident, then gets quite widespread in the media and on the Internet. Experts conducted a detailed analysis of all information available from all sources, produced technical calculations and elaborated version of the causes of death “Boeing”.
Expert conclusion: the only technically possible version – defeat the Malaysian ship using rocket and cannon armament of another aircraft. We draw attention to one point in the report – the absence of any credible evidence launch missiles “ground-to-air.” Start “Buck” accompanied by a cloud of fire, a deafening roar, audible within a radius of 10 kilometers, and contrails, which is clearly observed in the sky up to 10 minutes.
In short, it was not likely no “Buck” no starting from the ground. In the presence of a disaster area dozens of professional observers from all sides and thousands of lay, no one has seen or recorded. And planes seen and fixed. And it was certainly not the Russian planes. Experts arguments were heard on the Internet report was translated into English and German…
… All versions have to be considered, including the notorious “Buk“. The man who sent a picture in which can be seen as the MiG-29 kills passenger “Boeing”, whoever he was, of course, professional. To forge such requires even more excellence than to access such information. Lord, you have these pictures! Or more! Present them, finally! Hands on the table! Because at the moment there is every reason to believe that the government committed a crime by those who destroyed the aircraft deliberately and cynically. And those who deliberately and cynically hides it, having comprehensive information. 1TV.RU
The ‘Satellite Image’ Of A Ukrainian Fighter
Shooting Down MH17 Is Bogus
This image, which appeared on the Russian TV Station ‘1TV News’ website supposedly shows a Ukrainian SU-27 firing (they mistakenly call it a MiG-29) on MH17 as it flies over eastern Ukraine. The image is totally bogus and is an embarrassment to Russia’s quasi-state run media.
Looking very much like a doctored screen shot out of Lock-On Modern Air Combat, a popular air combat simulator that is made in Russia and has a plot that occurs over Ukraine, than an actual satellite image, there are many issues with its authenticity right off the bat.
First off, where exactly did this come from? TV1 says it came from a ‘foreign intelligence satellite,” how convenient. How is the resolution so high for objects far above the ground but so low for objects on the ground? Also, these image appears to be taken some 50km from where MH17 actually went down, and 50km is a long ways to travel after being shattered by a missile, as reports state. If the aircraft continued to actually fly for a relevant period of time, over some 50km of countryside before breaking up, it is likely that many more witnesses would have seen the jet’s final, firey descent and described it as such.
Then there is the fact that if this shot were true, it would mean an air-to-air missile’s warhead would have taken the jet down, which are much smaller than that carried by the SA-11. For instance, the popular Russian R-73 short-range air-to-air missile carries a 16-lb warhead whereas the SA-11 carries one ten times that size.
Then we have the vector of the attack shown in the photo. Why is an SU-27 taking a highly oblique shot at an un-maneuvering heavy airliner? Why not fall behind it so as not to let the crew see you coming and be at the best possible position for followup attacks and for your missiles to have the best chance of hitting? Additionally, the SA-11 that struck MH-17 did so in the forward hemisphere, near the left side of the cockpit, which would be a near impossible engagement angle for the firing solution shown in this picture. In fact, the missile would have had to of made a tight backwards question mark flight to the other side of the jet before detonating. This is totally ludicrous.
Some folks that are very familiar with satellite imagery say that the scale of the aircraft in comparison to the ground is also not as it should be, nor is the weather shown correct for the time of the incident. Finally, and maybe most damning, the 777 appears to have Malaysian Airlines titles in the wrong place. In fact, it looks like it has the original 777 Boeing house livery on it!:
In the end what you have here is not just a fake but a pretty haphazard one at that. The fact that Russia is letting this float out there is just another sign of Putin’s growing disinformation machine, one that has been very consistent, but not of any quality over the last 10 months. It also shows that the whole MH17 issue is not even near to being laid to rest, and the subject was known to have been brought up multiple times at the recent APEC summit in China.
I get it, Kremlin, when the answer is not beneficial for you politically or strategically, just go make up another one. The KGB were masters at denying obvious truths, and those skills die hard when your President/eternal leader was raised by the KGB during the ending days of the Cold War. But if you are going to put disinformation and propaganda out there, at least make it somewhat believable, as not doing so just turns manufactured doubt into manufactured shame.
Russian TV channel says photos show MH17 shot down by fighter jet
MOSCOW (Reuters) – Russian state-controlled TV has broadcast what it called “sensational” photographs, which it said supported Moscow’s theory that Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by a Ukrainian fighter jet.
Several commentators who have examined the photographs have described them as forgeries, however.
The photographs, said to be taken by a Western satellite, appear to show a fighter jet firing a missile at a passenger plane over eastern Ukraine where the Malaysian airliner was shot down on July 17, killing all 298 people on board.
Moscow has long said it believed the aircraft was destroyed by a Ukrainian military jet, while Western officials say evidence suggests the plane was hit by a Russian-made surface-to-air missile fired by pro-Russian separatist rebels.
The photographs were aired on a Friday evening news show “Odnako”, which said they had been sent to a Russian expert by a man called George Bilt, who had presented himself as a graduate from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
“We have at our disposal sensational photographs presumably made by a foreign spy satellite in the last seconds of the Malaysian Boeing’s flight over Ukraine,” Channel One presenter Dmitry Borisov said.
“The pictures support that version which has hardly been heard in the West.”
Since being aired by Channel One, the photographs have met with widespread scepticism.
Andrei Menshenin, a commentator for independent Russian radio station Ekho Moskvy, called the TV report a “pseudo-sensation”, and said the angle of attack indicated by the photographs did not correspond to the location of the damage.
Bellingcat, a British investigative journalism website, described the photographs as “a crude fabrication”, highlighting what it said were several inconsistencies, which included signs that the photos had been partly compiled from historical Google Earth imagery dating from 2012.
During the course of the Ukraine crisis Russian state television has frequently aired reports, sometimes including apparently sensational evidence, that back the Kremlin’s version of events.
In July, an opinion poll by the Levada Center polling agency said only three percent of Russians believed the Malaysian airliner was hit by rebels, with 82 percent saying it was shot down by the Ukrainian armed forces.
The publication of the photos came on the eve of a G20 summit in Brisbane, where President Vladimir Putin faces strong criticism from Western leaders for Russia’s actions in Ukraine.
